People across Cumbria are waking up to snow this morning.
As communities prepare to celebrate the May Day bank holiday, Mother Nature had other ideas.
Snow began to fall throughout the day yesterday, although the heaviest was expected overnight turning even low-lying fells white.
There were some hazardous driving conditions reported last night at the height of the bad weather.
There were reports that Wrynose Pass, between Little Langdale and the Duddon Valley, was closed while others - including the B6261 at Shap and roads in Troutbeck and Alston - were only just passable.
The Met Office yellow warning of snow is in place until 10am.
The warning comes a week after Cumbria was officially the hottest place in the country.
The highest temperature in Cumbria on April 21 was 19.7C at Levens Hall, near Kendal.
