Motorists are being warned to expect delays as an abnormal load passes through Cumbria today.

The slow-moving vehicle, which will be escorted by police, is travelling from the M6 at Carlisle to west Cumbria.

It will leave Southwaite Service Station at 10am and head north up the motorway to junction 44, at Kingmoor Park, Carlisle.

The vehicle will then head along the A689 northern bypass before joining the A595. It will travel on this route all the way to Seascale.

Police are warning motorists to allow extra time for journeys and expect delays.

It is one of several abnormal loads travelling to and from west Cumbria in the past week.
