IT was a bitter week for Cumbria's contenders on The Apprentice as one felt the wrath of Lord Alan Sugar.

Oliver Nohl-Oser became the third casualty of the boardroom when his team failed to make enough profit in their task designing, manufacturing and selling sweets.

Lord Sugar assigned Oliver, from Milburn, near Penrith, as project manager for team Nebula.

But after pitching to trade and selling to punters in Brighton, Nebula made a total profit of £615.08 while Titan, who produced cappuccino and strawberry champagne-flavoured sweets, made £785.66.

Oliver took digital marketing manager Mukai Noiri and marketing marketing agency owner Paul Sullivan into the boardroom.

The 33-year-old, who co-founded The Cumbrian Sausage Company, which has a factory in Maryport, had struggled to make decisions when it came to the pricing strategy and Lord Sugar also did not fancy his choice to produce salt and vinegar fudge.

Lord Sugar said: "Oliver, your best hope for £250,000 is to buy yourself a scratch card... You're fired."
