RESIDENTS were treated for smoke inhalation following a house fire near Carlisle.

It happened in Scotby at 12.30am today.

A dishwasher had caught fire.

Three fire crews attended and extinguished the blaze, which was confined to the kitchen.

A fire spokesman said there was a lot of smoke in the property.

Residents were treated at the scene by ambulance staff.
Crews were at the scene for almost two hours.
