Top comic Jason Manford has added another Carlisle date to his 2018 tour - with tickets going on sale today.

Having already announced he would visit the city's Sands Centre next May, the Mancunian funnyman will also return in November 2018.

In his stand-up routine, entitled "Muddle Class", Manford will taking about his working-class upbringing - and the fact that over the years, part of him has also become middle-class.

The comedian has previously staged a benefit show for Cumbrian flood victims at the end of 2015.

His most high-profile visit to the county came last summer when he headlined the Soapbox Stage at the Kendal Calling music festival.

Manford became interested in comedy after watching the likes of Peter Kay, Eddie Izzard and Johnny Vegas perform at his local comedy club.

He has been a firm favourite with comedy fans of all ages since his first solo stand-up show earned him huge critical acclaim and a nomination for the prestigious Perrier Newcomer Award back in 2005.
