A man has been charged with theft following the burglary of a fledgling Whitehaven business on Tuesday morning.
Around £5,000 of bikes and computer equipment was taken from The Bike Shed on Roper Street just days after it opened.
Owner, Paul Fagan said the burglary had "knocked the business back" because he relies on the computer system to order parts.
He said: "It's upsetting more than anything because you try your hardest and we've started something from scratch. So to get to the point where we're going to open and then somebody decides to do this is upsetting."
A 26-year-old male from Whitehaven has since been arrested and charged.
A Cannondale Jekyll bike worth £4,000 was also stolen in a separate incident at Ennerdale on Tuesday evening. Call police on 101 if you have information.
