A four-year-old boy has died after an 'incident' at a caravan park swimming pool.
Police have confirmed the boy died after suffering severe injuries at the Old Park Wood caravan park, near Grange-over-Sands.
Two ambulances from the North West Ambulance Service and an air ambulance were alerted to the emergency at around 3.56pm on Monday.
A spokeswoman from the NWAS said: "We were called to the swimming pool at Old Park caravan site.
"We sent two ambulances carrying two paramedics each and an air ambulance.
"The air ambulance was not used, and the patient was taken by land to Furness General Hospital."
He was later transferred to Alder Hey Children's Hospital in Liverpool where he died.
Police were called to the caravan park at about 4.40pm. They are investigating the death.
The site is part of Holker Estates Holiday Parks.
