A boy was struck by a hit and run driver as he walked over a Carlisle pedestrian crossing.
Police are investigating the incident, which happened as the 10-year-old the pedestrian crossed London Road, outside Aldi.
He was using the pedestrian crossing at about 8.25am yesterday, when he was hit by a white Ford car driven by a woman.
The youngster was lucky to escape with only minor injuries - a grazed and bruised knee - but the woman behind the wheel of the car did not stop.
The Ford drove on, turning into Petteril Bank Road.
Police are appealing for anyone with information about the vehicle or the driver is asked to contact officers on 101.
