Autumn sunshine brought a boost to a Cumbrian seaside town as people got out and about to enjoy the weather - and the view.

While some were happy to sit and soak up the rays others took the opportunity to get out on their bikes along the coast road through Silloth.

The first few days of October have seen early mists make way for glorious sunshine followed by more seasonal chilly evenings.

Temperatures today were around 15C during mid-afternoon with a high of 17C expected tomorrow.

Weather experts said tomorrow's mist or low cloud would lift during the morning to give a dry day with some bright or sunny spells. It would feel pleasant in the sunshine, with mainly light winds.

Wednesday will be slightly cooler - around 14C with some sunshine - with more cloud on Thursday and Friday and the chance of an isolated shower.
