AN armed intruder walked into a Whitehaven home and threatened the occupants while they were in bed.
The man, who was brandishing a hammer, entered the house in Countess Road, Bransty, through an unlocked front door at 9.30pm yesterday. He walked into the bedroom and demanded money.
He then fled, possibly towards Whitehaven town centre.
The man is described as white, 5ft 10in tall, of slim build and spoke with a local accent.
Police are urging people to keep doors locked.
