A DRUG addict who robbed a man at knifepoint after bursting into his Carlisle home has been jailed for 15 years.
Carl Pattie, 36, held a blade to the victim's throat and a working stun gun to his side during a raid in the early hours of January 1.
Pattie and an unidentified accomplice - who both wore disguises - ransacked the terraced property in search of drugs and cash.
During the crime, Pattie's mask slipped and he was recognised by the shocked occupant.
He denied charges of robbery and possession of a prohibited weapon but was convicted by jurors after a trial earlier this year.
Pattie, of Botcherby Avenue, Carlisle, was sentenced today or those two offences and one other. He had previously admitted a separate charge of possessing a disguised firearm which had been found by police at his house.
Judge Peter Davies handed down a 15-year jail term for the crimes, saying of the robbery: "This was a prolonged, violent, joint attack in another's home."
