A MISSING man from Scotland is believed to be in the Carlisle area.

Police are growing concerned for the welfare of Andrew McGhee who was last seen in Leith on Sunday.

The 50-year-old, who is known as Andy but also uses the name Donald Swan, has not been in contact with his friends of family since.

It is believed he may have travelled from Edinburgh to Cumbria, and possibly Carlisle, after leaving his Leith home.

Police inspector Murray Tait, of Craigmillar Police Station in Scotland, said: "We are growing increasingly concerned for Andy's welfare. Anyone who has seen him or has any information on his whereabouts should contact Police Scotland on 101."

Mr McGhee is described as white, 6ft 2", of medium build, with brown eyes, very short grey hair and dark eyebrows. He has a tattoo on his left fore arm with the word Caroline.

He was wearing blue jeans, a white t-shirt with red hand prints and the word Strongbow on it and a black jacket.
