Last chance for cocaine and drink binge youth

A youth who had been on a cocaine and drinking binge since New Year has been given one last chance to mend his ways by a judge.

The 17-year-old, from Carlisle, appeared at Carlisle Crown Court where he admitted being in breach of the terms of a community sentence imposed for offences which included burglary and an assault.

Judge Peter Davies told him: “You are not yet 18 and your behaviour is appalling. It’s time you learned to grow up. This is your last chance.”

He imposed a two-year youth rehabilitation order, with three-month curfew, and 100 hours of unpaid work in the community.
