Labour leader Ed Miliband to host Carlisle question and answer session

Labour leader Ed Miliband is to visit Carlisle and he wants to hear from members of the public.
Mr Miliband will hold a question and answer session in the city on the afternoon of Thursday, March 28.
It has been arranged as part of Labour’s One Nation series of events giving people a chance to ask questions on issues which affect them.
The Carlisle event will focus on how politics can be made more relevant to people, and Mr Miliband particularly wants to hear from those who have given up voting for political parties or those who have never voted.
Lee Sherriff, Labour’s Prospective Parliamentary Candidate for Carlisle, said it would be an honour to have him visit the city.
She said: “It’s a fantastic opportunity for people who are disillusioned with the way politics has been going over the past few years.
“It’s a chance for them to come along and speak to him in the flesh and ask him questions.
“It has just been announced but we’ve had a very positive response and a few people are taking us up on the offer already.”
The visit is part of a series of events being held throughout the UK featuring a variety of Labour figures including: Maria Eagle, Mary Creagh, Dianne Abbott, Baroness Angela Smith, Angela Eagle, Andy Burnham, Chi Onwurah, Helen Goodman and Jack Dromey.
Last year Mr Miliband chose Carlisle to launch his party’s local elections campaign for the north, addressing members at the Richard Rose Morton Academy.
Anyone who would like to take part in the event should visit http://www.yourbritain.org.uk/join-the-debate/events and click Carlisle on the registration page.
