Jury discharged in Cumbria garden centre boss case

The jury has been discharged in the case of a garden centre owner accused of conspiring to pervert the course of justice.

Thomas Hayes, 46, owner of Hayes Garden World of Ambleside, had been on trial at Carlisle Crown Court.

He was accused of lying with another man, Derek Henderson, 58, over who was driving a Porsche involved in a crash.

Hayes, of Crook Road, Kendal, and Henderson, of Woodbank Terrace, Endmoor, both deny the same charge.

The case was adjourned until a later date.
