Jail warning for woman who admitted cannabis charge

A 43-year-old woman who has admitted possessing cannabis with an intent to supply it has been warned she may be facing prison.

Caroline Bell, of Beverley Close, Workington, admitted the offence when she appeared before a judge at Carlisle Crown Court.

She committed the offence on August 7 last year.

Granting her bail, Judge Peter Davies told the defendant the offence may attract a custodial sentence.

She will be sentenced on February 21 after background reports have been prepared by the Probation Service.

A date for a Proceeds of Crime hearing – designed to claw back any profits she may have made from her crime – will be set at a later date.
