Jail warning for man who stole quadbike from farm

A man is facing jail after admitting stealing a £5,500 quadbike from a north Cumbrian farm.

Gary David Ferguson, 23, pleaded guilty at Carlisle Crown Court to taking the vehicle from a barn at Beckstone Farm in Low Row, near Brampton, on March 12.

He also admitted driving it even though he had previously been disqualified from driving.

He also pleaded guilty to driving it with no insurance and failing to provide a blood sample when asked to do by the police.

Ferguson, who has no fixed address, was remanded in custody for background reports and will be sentenced on May 1.

Judge Paul Batty QC told him the only question was how long he would be going to prison for.
