Inquiry after man injured at Carlisle mail depot

An investigation has been launched into an industrial accident at a mail depot.

Police say a man was injured after being struck by a HGV he was helping guide back.

The accident happened at UK Mail’s depot at Kingstown, Carlisle, just after noon yesterday.

Although hurt, the injuries sustained by the 41-year-old man involved were today described as being not life-threatening.

The Vehicle and Operator Services Agency (VOSA) is investigating and the Health and Safety Executive has been informed.
