An inquest has been opened into the death of a Polish factory worker who was stabbed outside his home in Carlisle.
Three people were charged with murder and another three with assisting an offender after Piotr Kulinski, 32, lost his life in Harraby last weekend.
Now the North and West Cumbria Coroner, David Roberts, has opened and adjourned an inquest into Mr Kulinski’s death.
A full inquest hearing has been initially scheduled for April next year. The venue and time have to be confirmed.
Police and ambulances were called just after 6am on Sunday to a cul-de-sac off Arnside Road following reports that a man had been stabbed. Paramedics were unable to save Mr Kulinski, who worked at the city’s Cavaghan & Gray factory.
He had a partner and a young child.
A statement issued by his family said he was a loving father and partner who was “loved very much by his family”.
Those charged with murder are: Piotr Zygner, 30, Paulina Mucha, 26, and Sylwester Kawalec, 23, all of Currock Road, Carlisle.
Those charged with assisting an offender are: Adam Karpuk, 23, of Warwick Road, Carlisle, Artur Skoczen, 30, of Ashman Close, Denton Holme, Carlisle, and Artur Woszczyna, 44, of Beverley Rise, Harraby, Carlisle.
All six, who are originally from Poland, appeared before Carlisle Magistrates Court on Thursday.
They were remanded in custody ahead of a hearing before the city’s crown court on Monday.
