Icy weather forces emergency road closures in west Cumbria

Emergency closures have been placed on the Cold Fell and Corney Fell roads.

The predicted icy weather has forced the highways authority to announce the closures, with immediate effect.

All traffic is banned on:

  • Cold Fell, from its junction at the C4017 to its junction with the A595, a distance of approximately 10km
  • Corney Fell, from its junction with the A595 north of Waberthwaite in a south easterly direction to its junction of the U4065 Broadgate, a distance of approximately 9.5km
