Grateful Gaga fan

THERE has been a happy ending for a Lady Gaga fan whose dreams of seeing her idol had been cruelly dashed.
Eva Hill, 37, despaired of ever seeing the eccentric superstar in concert after an online ticket agency went bust, leaving her and many others hundreds of pounds out of pocket.
Some Gaga fans had threatened legal action when Carlisle Travel Ltd ceased trading and announced that it would not be offering refunds directly.
But Miss Hill, of Croft Head View, Lowca near Whitehaven, was able to go to the concert in Manchester on Tuesday after her bank agreed to refund her money under the chargeback scheme, when she submitted evidence of what had happened.
She said: “I got my money back with two days to spare and got my friend and myself more tickets.
“Needless to say it was one of the best moments of my life, I even cried when she first came on – so much emotions were involved in all I had to go through to get there.
“But I never gave up hope and dreams can come true. It was a happy ending at least.
“I had an amazing time. I can’t describe it. I am still recovering.”
Miss Hill also met some of her fellow Gaga fans at the Born This Way Ball at the MCR Arena in Manchester.
Among them was Stephen Faulkner, of Haughton Road in Sheffield, who also got his money back through the bank.
Mr Faulkner had been seeking legal advice on behalf of the victims after he too had bought tickets from Carlisle Travel.
Miss Hill said: “They were waiting for me when I came in. We are all good friends now”.
She paid out £200 for two tickets saved up for almost a year to buy them.
In an online statement, Carlisle Travel Ltd had insisted that it wasn’t their fault and that they too had lost a “substantial amount of money” when their main supplier went bust.
The statement blamed a company called Alpha Entertainment Ltd, but the News & Star has so far been unable to find any record of a ticket supplier of name.
