Girl hurt in hit and run on Carlisle road

A girl suffered a foot injury in a hit and run in Carlisle this afternoon.
The youngster was struck by a silver car, possibly a Vauxhall Vectra, on Wigton Road, near the Queensway junction at 4.35pm.
She was not badly hurt but police want to speak to the driver, who was heading towards Newby West.
Anyone with information should call police on 101.
