Mike Notman, 69, died in the city’s Cumberland Infirmary last Tuesday.

He was an associate of the Master Photographers’ Association.

Before launching Studio North, he worked a freelance press photographer.

His subjects included prime ministers Harold Macmillan and Harold Wilson, and The Beatles and The Rolling Stones when they played in Carlisle in the 1960s.

His funeral took place at St Cuthbert’s Church yesterday.
