Last updated at 12:13, Thursday, 18 October 2012
The funeral takes place tomorrow of a motorcyclist killed in a crash.
Mourners will gather to pay their final respects to Paul Fursey, 31, who lived at Bolton Low Houses, near Wigton.
He lost his life in a smash at the junction of the A66 and the village of Great Broughton, outside Workington.
Mr Fursey, who worked at the Asda supermarket in Workington, was riding a Yamaha bike when it was in collision with an MG Rover.
Paramedics were called to the crash, on Tuesday October 2, but he died at the scene.
A service will be held at St George’s Church, Millom, at 9.30am, followed by burial at Millom Cemetery.
A death notice describes Mr Fursey as the “treasured son of Vivienne and Colin, much loved brother of Karl and Max and loving partner of Kath”.
He lived with his partner Kath Baxter, 46, who has said she will always be thankful for the three “wonderful years” they spent together.
She described him as her kind and fun-loving soulmate.
Mr Fursey worked for various Asda stores across the county for seven years. At the Workington store he worked in the petrol station.
Bosses at Asda described him as a conscientious and hard worker.
The car driver involved in the crash, a 23-year-old man from Dearham, near Maryport, suffered leg injuries.
The A66 was closed for nearly four hours while inquiries were carried out. Police are investigating the collision.
The North and West Cumbria Coroner, David Roberts, has opened and adjourned an inquest into Mr Fursey’s death.
A full inquest hearing is due to take place in April next year.
