Four-star rating for Cumbria council website

Cumbria County Council’s website is among just five in the country to receive a four-star rating.

It is the first time the authority’s site has received such a high level of praise.

Every year the independent public sector IT body SOCITM analyses hundreds of local authority websites and gives them a star rating for the overall content, functionality and user-friendliness.

In previous years the Cumbrian site had received three and two stars.

The others given four stars this year are Dorset, Kent, Oxfordshire and Surrey.
