Fire destroys car in Egremont

FIRE destroyed a car parked in a driveway in Egremont today.

Firefighters were called to an address off Grove Road at 2.30pm and found the Ford Fusion well alight.

A faulty battery may have been to blame.

An appliance from Whitehaven was at the scene for 45 minutes.

No-one was hurt, but the heat caused a ground-floor bedroom window to crack and the uPVC frame partially melted.
