Missing Cumbrian man found 'safe'

A man whose disappearance had sparked growing fears for his safety has been found.

Michael Torney, 38, of Main Road, High Harrington, Workington, had last been seen by a house-mate at 8.30pm on Sunday.

Police confirmed that Mr Torney returned to his home safe and well last night.

Officers had carried out door-to-door searches to try and find him.

His brother Paul said yesterday that it was out of character for him to go missing.

Do decorative lights in town centres make a difference to the way you feel about Christmas?

Certainly. I don't feel the season has started until after the big switch-on

These days I don't think they're worth the expense

Love them - but they shouldn't be switched on until December
