Clothing giant H&M is taking over four empty shop units in Workington town centre.
The Swedish fashion chain will open in the Washington Square Shopping Centre in three months’ time.
Thirty jobs will be created.
The store will take over the ground and first floors of the units on Risman Place - which are opposite Debenhams and between Clarks and Laura Ashley - to sell women’s and children’s clothing.
The company’s country manager for the UK and Ireland, Magnus Olsson, said he was “excited” to confirm the store’s arrival.
H&M has submitted a planning application to Allerdale council to convert the empty units.

Have your say
I don't want to be one to moan, but is there away for us to put it to h and m that maybe a men's department would actually be great and could actually strive as if you don't like Chav world (sports direct) and middle aged to old appeal (debahnams) there ain't anywhere to shop but yes it's great that there has been the opputunity for jobs
Lets hope they have a mens department because the one in Carlisle doesnt You have to go all the way to Newcastle.
