Doctor who snooped on ex’s emails could be struck off

A doctor who snooped on the emails of the Cumbrian GP who was his former partner is facing the possibility that he may be struck off.

Dr Barry Rodgers was given the passwords used by fellow doctor Hannah Judson and permission to log into her accounts during their 12-year relationship, a court heard.

But when that relationship soured in 2011 he continued to access her personal correspondence and stored some of the information on his computer.

Last year, at Carlisle Crown Court, he admitted four offences and was sentenced to six months’ imprisonment, suspended for a year, and told to pay compensation and costs.

He now faces fitness to practise proceedings at the Medical Practitioners Tribunal Service in Manchester.
