Designer sensory bed joy for little Cumbrian boy

A delighted mum hopes her inspiration will mean sweet dreams for her baby son.

Shelley Wall, from Abbeytown, has designed a bed for her son Noah, who has spina bifida.

Now he’s enjoying the benefits of the sensory bed, complete with a den, mirrors, and a side panel which folds down so he can receive massages.

Michelle had a brainwave and did a sketch of the bed before giving it to her husband Rob, a design engineer at Twoeys Toys.

The company agreed to put her idea into practice and it will be producing the bed for other families who might need it.

Michelle said: “It’s amazing to have something like this and it’s just exactly what I wanted.

“When you buy things for disabled people they treble or quadruple in price – it’s not fair. It will be able to help a lot of people as well.”.

“I’ve never designed anything like this. The help I have had has been incredible.”
