Cumbrian sex worker and serial killer pimp posed for selfies with corpse

A sex worker and her serial killer pimp who posed for selfies by the dead body of a man have been jailed by a judge who branded them “vultures”.

Christopher Sawyers, 36, has been jailed for 33 years for murdering former teacher Kenneth Chapman, 47, for stealing thousands in cash and belongings from him, and for the manslaughter of Peter Clark, 60, who died accidentally in 2012.

Kirsty Edmondson, 23, from Barrow, was cleared of murdering Mr Chapman. But the former Alfred Barrow School pupil, was jailed for three years after admitting a string of theft and fraud charges alongside Sawyers.

Sending them to prison, Mr Justice Holroyde said: “The pair of you were like vultures around a corpse.”

Manchester Crown Court heard Mr Chapman had financially supported Edmondson. He was semi-conscious after injecting drugs with her on December 28, when she called Sawyers to the flat in Eccles for more drugs.

Sawyers arrived and murdered Mr Chapman with a syringe loaded with a massive dose of heroin so he could get his hands on Mr Chapman’s cash. He then told Edmondson: “I’m a serial killer now.”

Minutes later the pair posed for selfies with his corpse.
