Cumbria police hunt yobs after possible firework attack on woman's home

Police are investigating a possible firework attack on the home of a young woman in west Cumbria.

Officers were called to the property on Dryden Way, Egremont, just before 2.40am today, after the object is believed to have been put through the letterbox.

A 24-year-old woman was upstairs in the property at the time.

A police spokeswoman confirmed that the force was investigating an attempted arson and that officers believe the object placed through the letterbox may have been a firework.

It is not clear what the extent of damage was to the property.

Anyone with information has been call police on 101 or contact Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
