Cumbrian man denies wounding charge

A man is to go on trial in December accused of causing a serious injury to another man.

Kieran Michael Sweeney, 28, of Marine Terrace, Whitehaven, pleaded not guilty at Carlisle Crown Court to wounding Richard Donnan with intent to cause him grievous bodily harm.

He was remanded on conditional bail to await his trial, which will start on December 15.
