Cumbrian man charged with causing death by dangerous driving

A Penrith man is to appear in court accused of causing death by dangerous driving.

The charge against Samuel McIlveen, aged 24, of Carleton Road, follows a collision on the B5320 at Eamont Bridge on March 7 in which 20-year-old Robin Hewitt, of Penrith, lost his life.

McIlveen will appear at Carlisle Magistrates Court on January 3.
