Cumbrian man accused of having Bart Simpson porn

A man has appeared in court accused of possessing pornographic cartoons, including one showing Bart Simpson having sex with his mother.

Andrew Smith, 55, pleaded not guilty at Carlisle Crown Court to nine charges alleging that he was in possession of prohibited images of children.

The court heard that the images involved were “cartoons and sketches” that Smith, of Killington Drive, Kendal, had allegedly downloaded onto his computer from the internet.

One charge alleged that he had a picture of “a child, Bart Simpson, having sexual intercourse with an adult, Marge Simpson.”

Two involved pictures of boys aged about 12 having sex with a woman, while two others referred to boys of about eight and 10 doing the same.

Two alleged that he had pictures of women committing sex acts on boys aged about eight, while one allegedly involved a boy of about 10 years old.

The final charge alleged that he had in his possession an unspecified number of images of children aged from eight to 14 engaged in sexual acts with adults.

Smith, who is full-time carer for his elderly mother, was remanded on unconditional bail to await his trial, which will begin on August 4.
