Cumbrian man accused of arson attack

A Distington man is to appear at court accused of an arson attack which damaged two Workington houses.

Stephen Richard Milligan, 36, of Mid Town Close, is accused of committing arson which caused £12,520 damage to 87 and 89 Elterwater Avenue on September 24 last year.

Milligan appeared before West Cumbria magistrates and his case was committed to Carlisle Crown Court, where he is due to appear on March 19.

He has not entered a plea and was bailed on condition that he does not enter Elterwater Avenue.
