Cumbrian landlady charged over alleged riots at pub

A Workington landlady is to appear in court following alleged drunken riots at her pub.

Anita Jean Gilpin, 51, who has been running the Apple Tree in Finkle Street, faces three charges.

She is accused of carrying on a licensable activity, namely drunken and riotous behaviour on February 26, failing to maintain CCTV images for 28 days in February, and failing to have at least two staff on duty, also on February 26.

The case is due to be heard by magistrates in Workington on June 8.

The pub has not been open since April.
