Cumbrian girl airlifted after being crushed under quad bike

A young girl has been airlifted to hospital after being crushed under a quad bike.

The youngster, aged up to four years, suffered leg and arm injuries in the incident on a farm near Bootle at about 5pm.

The Pride of Cumbia air ambulance - based near Penrith - flew the child and her mother to the West Cumberland Hospital in Whitehaven.

Her injuries were said to be non life-threatening and she was "stable" on arrival at hospital.
