KEEN dancers are being urged to put their best foot forward and join a dance group in Earls Croome.

The Appleyard Ladies Traditional Dancers have been together for about 14 years and practise every Thursday - between 8pm and 10pm - at Earls Croome village hall.

The group take part in traditional forms of dancing, with a variety of steps, using hoops hankies or sticks and have about 15 members.

During the summer, they also dance at various pubs - either by themselves, or with other dance clubs as well as at a couple of festivals throughout the year.

They are now looking for more people to join as they have recently lost several members who have moved from the area.

People do not need to have any experience and females of all ages are welcome to attend.

"We have musicians to play for us and it's really nice to dance to," said member Peta Whitlock.

"It's very good exercise and a good sociable occasion too and it's no commitment - people can just come along and see if it's their cup of tea."
