Cumbria police negotiators called to reports of man with crossbow

Cumbria police negotiators were called in to deal with a man who was said to have a crossbow and be making threats.

Officers had received reports at 2.40pm of a domestic incident involving two people on Lord Street in Millom.

The man was making threats towards himself and another person at the address, said police.

"Police negotiators attended the scene and brought the situation under control.

"A man aged 47 was arrested by police officers and is being transported to custody.

"No one was injured during the incident," said a force statement.
