Cumbria police: Missing teenage mum safe and well in France

A teenage mum missing from home for more than two months has made contact with Cumbria police.
Catalina Covaci disappeared with her baby son on December 19 last year and was last seen on CCTV at Manchester Piccadilly rail station.
Police launched a major search for the 15-year-old, which involved public appeals and national and international inquiries.
They confirmed today that Catalina - who had been living in Penrith - had got in touch to say she and baby Ricardo are safe and well with family members in France.
Detective Chief Inspector Lesley Hanson said French police officers had visited her and as a result, the inquiry was now closed.
“Catalina and Ricardo are safe and well which is the best outcome we could have hoped for," added DCI Hanson.
