Crazy carrot becomes mascot for Carlisle law firm

A law firm has unveiled its newest addition – complete with coquettish pose and sporting the company’s colours.
However, the “mascot” is neither human nor animal, but is in fact a vegetable.
The twisted and deformed carrot was left on the doorstep of a woman who works as a secretary at Cartmell Shepherd Solicitors in Carlisle. It was in fact her husband who spotted its quirky likeness, adding a face and eyes to the figure.
The secretary brought it into work, and fellow employees renamed it the Carrot-mell Shepherd and decided it was their unofficial mascot.
Carol Fish, a partner at the firm, said: “Myself and trainee solicitor Emma Aitken decided to tweet it out there as it’s the same colours as Cartmell Shepherd. People have been in hysterics over it – but it is quite an amazing-looking vegetable.”
The carrot has sparked hilarity on the social networking site, and is reminiscent of the BBC television show That’s Life and its segment where viewers sent in their weird and wonderfully-shaped vegetables.
The future of the curvaceous carrot is uncertain – with no one keen to eat it – but in a county known for its local produce, it has sparked the question of what is the weirdest shaped vegetable?
