£2,515 court bill for ice cream van operator
Last updated at 15:03, Wednesday, 20 February 2013
An ice-cream van operator has been landed with a £2,515 court bill.
Wesley Paul Barrett, 34, failed to turn up at West Cumbria Magistrates’ Court in Workington to face three charges. All were proved in his absence.
It was alleged that on three occasions he intentionally obstructed Allerdale council officers acting under hygiene regulations.
On one occasion a van was parked at Thirlmere, and on the other two at Catbells overlooking Derwentwater.
The business, for which the address was given in court as care of Fisher Place, Thirlmere, was fined £600 on each charge, with £700 costs and a £15 victim surcharge.
