Concern as man goes missing from Lakes beauty spot

A 61-year-old man has been missing from the the Glenridding area of Lake District for three days.

Richard Hayne, from Northamptonshire, disappeared after breakfast on Wednesday when he was at the Inn on the Lake.

Police said he is believed to be on foot and may be in the Bassenthwaite area.

Mr Hayne is said to be 6ft tall, slim, with short grey hair. He was last seen wearing walking shoes, khaki walking trousers, a t-shirt and a jumper.

Police are concerned for his welfare, and are appealing for anyone who may have seen someone matching his description to get in touch.

Anyone with information should call Cumbria police on 101.
