Eden hospice launches Light Up A Life Appeal
Last updated at 11:45, Thursday, 04 October 2012
The Eden Valley Hospice has launched its Light Up A Life Appeal 2012, giving people a chance to celebrate the life of their loved ones.
At each service there will be a Christmas tree, with every light dedicated in someone’s memory, and the placing of remembrance candles.
The memorial services will be held in Cumbria and south west Scotland in November and December. The first is planned for Alston Town Hall on Sunday, November 25 at 2.30pm.
Anyone can sponsor a light by making a donation to the hospice.
A spokeswoman for the hospice said: “We invite everyone to join us at one of our Light Up A Life carol services and celebrate the lives of people, who may not be with us this Christmas, but will still be close to our hearts.
“At each service you will have the chance to place a special Light Up A Life candle on one of our trees and you will receive a remembrance card containing the name of your loved one.”
The appeal is open to all bereaved people, with many of those being remembered at the Light Up A life services having been cared for by the hospice.
All of the money raised will help the Eden Valley Hospice to continue to provide its care and support to its patients, their families and friends.
