CCTV camera films mystery ball of light at Carlisle community centre

A community centre is at the centre of a fascinating mystery after one of its security cameras captured a spooky dancing light.

Have your say

The light is clearly a spiritual orb, but these phenomenon are only associated with a spirit in transit at the time of death, and not with haunting. They are also associated with people and not places, and as Gareth Weber was alone in the building at the time it appeared, he must be the person the spirit was trying to contact. The dying person need not even be on the same continent, let alone in Carlisle. These sightings were just taken for granted when people passed away before the invention of electrical light. Doors frequently bang, pictures fall off walls, and glasses shatter at the same time as these orbs appear. They are less likely if relatives are present at the bedside at the time of death, more likely if the death happens alone or is traumatic.

Hardly a "dancing light"... "a vague smudge moving in a short way in a straight line along a wall" would have been more appropriate...but not as snappy!

It amazes me how easily these (non)stories get published. Is the good old N&S so desperate for filler?

Well I wouldn't worry if the Council get their way the CCTV will get cut off, so criminals and the paranormal can do what they like then.

@Nathan He's recorded it from the CCTV screen.

@Brian I'm with you, looks like the street light reflecting off a water drip

The article states that "it travels inexplicably along the corridor before turning sharply upwards" but the video just shows a smudge going down...

notice the door opposite the glass window where the light first appears , there is light coming from that door and lights up the wall by the window . Something moving in that room has reflected the small light on the window and along the wall.

I have seen the spook at Greystone. While in the Youth Wing it broke a blender right in front of my very eyes... very weird!
