Cash stolen from Christmas Day Good Samaritan

A volunteer serving Christmas Day dinners had money snatched from her purse.

Police are investigating the theft which happened while the 24-year victim, from Carlisle, was serving meals at the city's Wigton Road Methodist Church.

It is believed the thief entered another part of the building and took £70 from the woman's purse.

The theft happened between 12.25pm and 12.50pm on December 25. Details have just been released.
