Cars targeted in early morning vandalism spree

Vandals have wrecked the wing mirrors of 16 parked cars in a series of attacks early on Saturday.

Police in Maryport are appealing for witnesses to the attacks, which happened at around 1.35 am on several streets, including Sandy Lonning, Curzon Street, Station Road, and Gable Road.

Three male suspects were seen in the area at the time it happened.

The cost of the damage is not yet known but it is likely to run into many hundreds - if not thousands - pounds. A police spokeswoman said that more victims may yet come forward.

If you can help the police investigation call Cumbria Police on 101.

Alternatively, you can call Crimestoppers - anonymously if necessary - on 0800 555 111/
