Cars damaged in Cumbrian town

Vandals caused hundreds of pounds worth of damage to two cars in Whitehaven.

The vehicles were both scratched down the offside door and panels in the Hensingham area.

The first, a Kia Sportage, was vandalised between 5.30pm on Tuesday and 8.25am on Wednesday, as it was parked on Ullswater Avenue. It will cost about £300 to repair.

A Mini Cooper car was scratched the following night, between 6pm on Wednesday and 8am yesterday in Wythburn Road, causing £200 damage.

Police are appealing for anyone with information to contact PC 1237 Mason at Whitehaven police station by calling 101.
