Carlisle man in intensive care after being crushed at work

A Carlisle man suffered serious crush-type injuries after an accident at work.
The 45-year-old, who has not been named, is in the intensive care unit at the Cumberland Infirmary.
The incident took place at business premises, Ian Ridley Transport Ltd, in Newton Road, Penrith, at about 1pm on Saturday.
It is understood that the man, who is employed by Ian Ridley Transport Ltd, was badly hurt when a wagon rolled forward while he was working on a vehicle.
The accident is being jointly investigated by the police and the Health and Safety Executive.
